- When it comes to beating DP Ruto in 2022, Jakom has no otherwise but to either, make sure he has formed a very strong coalition between Mudavadi, Kalonzo et all and make sure they back him 100pc which is highly unlikely or he should endorse one of the candidates who should face off Ruto which is likely to be the best option.
- Raila Keeps forgetting that as President Uhuru Kenyatta nears the end of his reign, his relevance to him gets closer to Zero
Raila Odinga has for a very long time been viewed as the defender of the people and it is this view that has always made him Powerful and earned him the support he needed anytime he raised up to make a point or even run for the highest office on the land. It is this view that has always given him the stake at the ‘high table’ and made him rise up to be one of the biggest political icons in Kenya. It has earned him both praise and criticism equally and even amassed him a huge following of blind loyalties and generals who will rise up and go to ‘war’ at the snap of his fingers. It is this among other things that has earned him political grace for a very long time.
Recently, it seems things are changing especially after the handshake since The Enigma as he is so referred to by his staunch supporters, has been having a hard time trying to convince people that he is still the Man of The People and not The Enemy of The People. He has found himself on the opposite side of the wishes of the kenyan people who have been supporting him for a very long time so many times that he now looks like part of the problem and not the solution to the problem.
Raila Keeps forgetting that as President Uhuru Kenyatta nears the end of his reign, his relevance to him gets closer to Zero. If Uhuru Kenyatta would like post-presidency ‘immunity’, he will definitely need to back a winning horse and at the moment, that’s not Raila Odinga. He has fallen from political grace.
Jubilee has cancelled plans to form a Coalition with ODM. It’s not by accident but by design. When BBI collapses, which it will, it will collapse with Raila Odinga. Maybe not totally with ODM but yes, Raila will surely be the biggest loser. In fact BBI will be used to de-campaign him. He will be branded Power hungry for supporting a document that creates an Imperial President.
Raila if at all has serious advisors or an ear to listen to these wild thoughts, he will immediately abandon his Marriage with Jubilee Party. This is the only wildcard Raila has left. He has made Jubilee Party and ODM look like identical twins. Any decisions made by the Jubilee government are assumed to have been endorsed by Raila Odinga and ODM at large. Which generally equates the failure of Jubilee to be equal to the failure of ODM. He should abandon that arrangement before all is lost.
When it comes to beating DP Ruto in 2022, Jakom has no otherwise but to either, make sure he has formed a very strong coalition between Mudavadi, Kalonzo et all and make sure they back him 100pc which is highly unlikely or he should endorse one of the candidates who should face off Ruto which is likely to be the best option. A highly likely endorsement that would work would be a Mudavadi endorsement. Since Kenyan Politics is basically tribal, this would make sure that for the first time, the Luhya Community solidifies its voting block. Something which hasn’t been for a long time. Otherwise, if they walk to the general election divided, it will be a walk in the park for DP Ruto. Raila Odinga should be ready to make that tough call for the greater good or perish with his choice.
