There has been a lot of controversies surrounding why Undergraduate degree holders tend to have less output or rather less productive in the market field as compared to the Diploma holders and to even a less extent the certificate holders.
While stepping into the University, I had the hope of becoming educated and to a greater extent be a person to change great minds but as the struggle continues towards living my dreams I see a lot of things that keep happening in the University but all my faith is kept to the Higher being for change.
I am In one of the well known universities in Kenya and I should say there are a number of things that I have seen and have heard that left my ears wishing to be deaf.
There are only two ways in which you can get a first class degree in this unit. One you either read very hard to an imaginable level or Second you can offer me 2 million and get the first class.
These are part of the words by a lecturer to some students undertaking a very influential course in the University.
There has however been the most common type of way by which students end up getting degrees in the Universities these days.
This method has been most common to the female students who offer Sex in return they get to be awarded good grades.
Many lecturers prey on the female students and most of the female students take this to their advantage and get A’s awarded to them.
This has on the larger extent led to most of the students to give less output in the field they study when they are employed.
They therefore with the “FIRST CLASS” degrees lead to almost all the other undergraduate degree holders to be marked incompetent.
The question raised here is, will these sexually transmitted degrees be dealt with by those in the authorities or are they even part of these conspiracy? All I can do for now is lay my open mind and let fate take its course but always remember we are to become elites not just holders of documents.
